Noynoy’s MBC Speech – Symmetry of Hypocrisy

0saves

The whole speech is a bluff. Full of hypocritical statements. Why? He’s been scratching his balls for the last decade first as a congressman then as a senator. All these motherhood statements should have been the context of the bills he should have authored during his engagements as a legislator.

It is built on GLORIA is EVIL… I AM GOOD and I AM THE SAVIOUR premises.

We have an administration whose mandate is clouded in doubt and overshadowed by allegations of fraud because it refused every opportunity to clear the air and be held to account. Its choices have limited its decision-making to seeking ways to ensure day-to-day political survival and self-interest. We must now become a government committed to accountability. A government that works with the people in achieving long-term change.

How can one be accountable if one is incompetent… You’ve never categorically condemned gloria for the ZTE, fertilizer scam and other corruption issues while you have the option to shout at the senate floor and tell Gloria… you are evil… WHY ONLY NOW NOYNOY?

You’ve asked a the MOB BUSINESS CLUB of makati the following and answered it yourself.

What is it that we want to change?

We want to repair the damage that has been wrought on our democratic institutions by those who have sought to manipulate them for their own selfish ends.

My goodness Noynoy again you’ve missed your chances!!! legislation is such a powerful function in the government where a senator has the power to review the structure of any government agency that has been “damaged” and a chance to repair it by authoring bills. So far you’ve spent 7 million pesos to draft four bills while the lady senator who has once been ridiculed to have a brain “damage” has authored about 400 laws? Now between you and that lady senator… your brain is more damaged!

You’ve ranted about the poor:

We want to improve the situation of our people, who have suffered years of neglect because of a self-absorbed leadership obsessed with political survival.

Ask yourself… What have you done in Tarlac during your term as a congressman? Have you at least with your pork barrel improved the lives of the farmers at your clan’s hacienda luisita? Instead of improving their lives, you have allowed the farmers to be killed… and afterwards justified this kind of atrocity.

You’ve defined known problems… such as education…

It can only begin if our children and their parents are assured that money spent on education is money well spent. Unfortunately, students are at the mercy of our decrepit education system that allows double shifting, erroneous textbooks and substandard nursing schools to exist. No less than DepEd officials admitted that students in Grade 1 take three subjects in one class period. We have a procurement program so heedless of the need for excellence that it doesn’t care if it produces a textbook series riddled with 500 factual errors. For every hundred kids that start grade school with the hope of achieving their dreams, only fourteen will graduate from college and possess a tangible means to materially improve their lives.

But you’ve never been a part of the solution… you’ve never formulated any solution… The senate and the congress have committees where you have the chance to prove your worth in this advocacy you’re blabbering in front of the businessmen.  you may have joined them at least.  If you are doing your part well you could at least say… WHEN I WAS AT THE SENATE… I HAVE DRAFTED THIS BILL FOR EDUCATION… I want this ONE AS A PART OF MY PLATFORM…

BUT YOU HAVE NONE TO BOAST OF… Now you are hypocritically boasting what you want to do if you become president?… There is no SYMMETRY OF INFORMATION THEREFORE … IT IS ILLOGICAL TO VOTE FOR YOU.

  1. Hi jet,

You are asking the right questions especially about his take on the poor. However, Noynoy’s camp is very good at evading questions like yours. Tthey know that the more Noynoy is exposed to situations where he has to speak, the more his opponents will have ammunition to use against him. That’s why they are trying to limit his appearances. They should know that this is not a sustainable tactic because when he becomes the President, he cannot keep hiding from public scrutiny.

  2. Okay people I’m actually quite sober right now (ran out of drugs) so let me be serious for a moment.

Any person with a trace of intelligence knows that Noynoy is not “world class” leadership material (arguably not even “national class”). He is obviously being played like a pawn to advance the interests of the elite. If elected, we can expect pro-business and pro-wealth policies.

    My question: So what?

I am part of a family business and thus I am pro-business. I am wealthy so I would not like to see higher taxes to pay for an expansion of these “public goods,” as economists like to call it.

And so, even if I find nothing to like about Noynoy, his victory IS TO MY BENEFIT. He may be untalented, dumb, naive, shallow, and easily manipulated but what concerns me is the agenda of the puppet masters. These people who pull the strings are on my side. So a vote for Noynoy is a vote for my class.

    See you at Starbucks :)

  3. Mr. Conyo- thank you for the wonderful revalation. Now I understand your motives why, as you say above, even if you do not find anything to like about Noynoy, you want him to win because his puppet masters are on YOUR SIDE.
You are pro-business but that does not mean that you have a monopoly of the Public Good. The true spirit of democracy is not served by a small group of business people pulling strings behind the scenes. You do not want a democratic country, Mr. Conyo- you want an oligopoly, and you want to be in the politburo that runs everything.
People like Dick Gordon- yes, he may want to tax people more. But that is one of the key things that would make a democracy work. In your interpretation of a democratic Philippines, YOU and your kind are the ONLY stakeholders, and we lowly worker ants are only benefited by your graces and your whims. In Dick Gordon’s Philippines, even the poor have a stake. The concept here is OWNERSHIP of every citizen in the country, whereas your concept is OWNERSHIP BY A FEW, OWNERSHIP THAT IS ON YOUR SIDE INSTEAD OF BEING SHARED BY EVERYONE.

  4. Have clips of the Cebu dialogue with six presidential candidates made the rounds? Supposedly Mr. Aquino represented himself well.

The dilemma for me is that the pool of candidates is small, and, although I can’t say the criticisms here are wrong, it is equally easy to rip the other candidates for their failings. I mean, Villar and C-5; and talk about a man who evades platforms. Weepy Gordon who comes up with brainstorms like tourism for Sulu. Perlas who is so far off the main track on individual issues that he can’t get a following for his entire package. Teodoro who has ignored global warming, lost the rubber boats, and has a military that does nothing about piracy, has no jets, and finds its guns with the Ampatuans.

So who is strongest of them all? One has to make compromises, balance strengths and weaknesses, set aside the past and focus on now, and make the best choice. There is no Jesus in the bunch.

If being weepy is the only thing people have against Gordon, it’s very minor. Everyone knows he’s done a good job at Subic. At least he comes up with his own ideas about how to promote the country. Doesn’t the country need a shot of vitamin B with his cheer leading skills or tourism expertise? Not that I’m endorsing him. I just think that among all of them, he’s got the best skills to motivate the citizens and promote the country. He strikes me as a jolly guy actually.

The forum where NoyNoy was a more polished speaker, Erap was there too, right? You should have taken note of the results of the poll of the audience after the Cebu forum — more than two to one between first and second. NoyNoy was second — 23%. Gibo was 49%.

There are chinks in the Noynoy-for-Presidency campaign machine so one would hope none of this “how could we have lost when we were so way up there in the surveys???!!” come June2010.

To remember — NoyNoy has said surveys can be bought at Quiapo. Now I like Jamby’s comments about survey. She is proof-positive (she won senate when polls said she was kulelat loser) that Pilipinas election survey numbers are flaky.

    UP n,

Gibo got a good polling because the audience was filled with women who think he looks hot. My point is that Nonoy is not a complete dunce, as some would portray him, and may indeed be on a fast track to learning how to deal with his predicament. I particularly enjoyed the one photo I saw of Noynoy positively looking with disgust away from Villar, who was speaking. Gibo was beaming at all the babes who were blowing him kisses.

Well said, Jo. I couldn’t have agreed with you more.

But mind you, Gordon is just weepy on cam. When he is in a meeting with owners of companies inside the SBMA, he gets to say what he wants and nobody can disagree, or else be led out of SBMA the next day. Ask insiders at SBMA and you’ll know what I am saying. During his time as mayor of Olongapo, he was known by the people of Olongapo to have an army that kills hoodlums in Olongapo without the benefit of a court trial and scares everyone who opposes him. Now you will never wonder why he and his relatives are the only people who get elected in positions in Olongapo and Zambales. This man is a pro on cam, that is why he is effective in tourism and advertising. I’d bet he can make Maguindanao a tourist spot if Noynoy will let him.

  5. JoeAm…

First… the post is not about Noynoy’s other engagements. THIS IS CONTENT ANALYSIS OF THE SPEECH AT MBC!!!! NOT HIS CEBU ENGAGEMENT!!! It’s not about eloquence… it’s about content…

Second… if my observation, perception or conclusion is wrong… prove it… if you can’t… you either put up or shut up…. no pun intended…

I said I agreed with your assessment. I am not free to add my own insights, that if he did poorly at MBC, by your judgment, that readers might also want to consider the Cebu speech? You want me to shut up rather than contribute my own view, because it differs from yours?

  6. I think one of the wisest voices on line is that of Benign0. He recently commented that respect cannot be demanded or taken away. It is earned, through deeds. Sweet . . .

He also noted that a web site will eventually live or die based on its merits. I figure if I keep offering up my views here on AP, it will eventually die . . . heh heh

Certainly, Jet is imploding already . . . BongV is off making love to his computer, or belly up in the pool with a ****tail. . . BenK is getting more shrill with each rant . . .

Damn, Ilda keeps looking rational and good, though, and UP n is approaching Benign0 on the wisdometer. Conyo is simply cooling at da ‘bucks, opinions runnin’ off his back, like a duck’s . . .

Guess there’s still more work to do . . .
