ANTIPINOY.COM IS MOVING UP!

The exponential increase in Alexa rankings and the skyrocketing WordPress statistics show that our website is growing in popularity! The new number of commenters also increased so it is with great joy and pride that we, the Antipinoy.com team thank you for honoring us with your presence.

As many would say, Antipinoy.com is still not yet as “big” as the other websites there who even consider us adversaries. It is actually that thought that makes me proud of Antipinoy and should make YOU proud as one of our regular readers as well. It is not easy to read, digest and appreciate the truth. For many it brings feelings of discomfort when they are told what needs to be changed, the possibility that their beliefs could be wrong and that they need to turn the gears inside their brain that may have turned rusty and rickety due to lack of use.

Of course, we do appreciate the increase in readership as shown in the rankings surge and steep climb in the numbers of regular views, but unlike other sites, we are not obsessed with popularity. A lot of what we say will surely be unpopular because we are going against the tide. Yes, it is easy to talk about showbiz gossip, petty quarrels or support the views that the hordes of masses get easily swayed to. If we do that, we might have a lot more viewers right now who will sing the mindless choruses of kumbayas we could churn out – Wowowee style. If we march to the tune of the pied pipers, we will have a lot of rats going the same way we are but we are writers of principle and we know better than to do that.

THE HARDER RIGHT OR THE EASIER WRONG?

When given the choice between the two, for us it is better to choose the harder right than the easier wrong. How would we make use of the power of the Internet? What would we do with this novel creation called a blog? Would we make it an on-line fiesta to nourish our own egos, satisfy our need for affirmation and ramp up our popularity? Or would we rather use it as a portal for the truth to constantly emerge from? We do not need popularity nor money. We all write for Antipinoy with our hearts, minds and souls without any compensation at all except for our self-actualization and the opportunity for others to have theirs. You can have yours too by reading and understanding what the articles are trying to convey.

As you have seen in this last article by ilda, she speaks for all of us when she voiced our united stand for Senator Gordon’s bid for the presidency. A lot of Filipinos may laugh and say that he is a “trail ender” in those surveys but if those surveys can indeed be trusted, their results are a sad reflection not on Senator Gordon but on the people in general. It means that they make their decisions based on either emotionalism/sentimentalism or their propensity to being influenced by mob mentality. If indeed those characteristics are what a substantial portion of Philippine society possess, then it is really saddening. But, we at Antipinoy are a pragmatic lot. We are also principled.

We would not blindly shirk into the sidelines when we see wrongs being perpetuated. We shall state the truth no matter how hurtful or offensive others think it may be. They are the same truths that have set us free, and we hope to free the others as well from the dysfunctional culture that has incarcerated the country.

We do not claim to be the be all and end all of this cause. But as the saying goes, it is better to light even one little candle, than to stumble in the dark. We have lit our candles and we are glad that a lot have brought out theirs as well and passed on the flame. With this, please accept our humble thanks.

One- and three-month average world rankings have rocketed up!

AntiPinoy.com is taking its place among the top blogs in the Philippines and the U.S.!

And we’re still growing! (From WordPress Stats)

  1. Thank you for a very interesting (love the post-modern monicker, “Who really is the anti-Pinoy?”) and informed site. I found it via IAMOFW.

If it’s not too much to ask, am just wondering “who” you all are, e.g. backgrounds, previous relevant histories, etc.

I’m not necessarily after full identifying disclosures. It’s just that when I come across work that engages me, am immediately just as curious as to the who/what/where/when that produces such work.

Whilst I did glean in one of the articles that some of the writers are, like myself, residing outside the Philippines, no other information to this effect was contained in your “About” pages.

    Anyway, thank you kindly again.

    Hi JPF,

Thank you for taking the time to read the welcome message, welcome to AP.

Hmmm… how about “an eclectic group of Pinoys – either by blood or by circumstance – both here and abroad, different as snowflakes but sharing a common vision of a better Philippines through breaking the dominant paradigm of dysfunction and failure with intense realism.

Also, the “about the author” blurbs following the articles and the links some of us have provided attached to our names also provide information.

Not much info on the authors are provided so that focus is given on the message and the content – and not the messenger (though at times, maybe the messenger is the message).

Hope that was able to help.

    Cheers!

  3. :D We, the bloggers have the fiduciary responsibilities to present an unbiased views in our comments. We have to tell the truth, no matter what. By knowing the truth.; we can better things; and discard what are false and phony. Public Relation people and Media Networks allied to a certain Public Official. Knowingly present a biased view; because of their vested interests.

We, promise to tell the truth, and be a responsible commenters. We don’t claim to know all; or to give some nonsense comments sometimes. It will be our readers who will be the final jusdge. However, we will try to do our best…Thanks, for the opportunity to blog in the Anti Pinoy Website.

… other sites are wrapped around personal titles… flips/fliplams like to brag about their diplomas… which are concocted, made and printed at ongpin and espana blvd printing shops…

… some sites employ grammar police… flips/flipflams only accept ferpeckt country clubbed englitzched… when delivered orally, the accent is harder than laguna’s premium coconut, export quality…

… most sites only posts goody-goody-pat on the back-lies… puro kabalastugan…

Primarily parading diplomas and accreditation is actually a symptom of Filipinos finding the relative happiness in acquiring things and stuff – a primordial desire of human to show off to others that he has the goods to deliver.

It also give us a pretty good idea why we can’t seem to progress. People are scrambling for their entitlement more than the value of lifting people out of poverty.
